The B.WELL Foundation is a dedicated advocate for the youth of Des Moines, Iowa, committed to nurturing a future where young thinkers, designers, and creators can thrive. We believe in the power of connection, collaboration, and advocacy to drive transformative change, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to see and reach their full potential.

WHAT WE DO

Develop and expand young minds by building character through mentorship and education.
We bridge gaps and remove barriers through our comprehensive youth mentorship programs, grants, and community events. By enhancing accessibility to arts and resources not provided through public schools, we support students, school staff, and local artists. Our initiatives are designed to cultivate a vibrant community of innovation and creativity, empowering the next generation to lead and inspire by having early access to what is possible.

LongShots '24

This event not only brings together community members, friends, families, and neighbors but also serves as a crucial fundraiser to support basketball programs in our local schools, which have been drastically affected by recent budget cuts. To date, we’ve invested $25,000 to Des Moines Public High School basketball programs in support of ensuring that every child who wishes to participate in basketball can do so, regardless of financial constraints.

    We engage schools to identify student interests and pair them with artists and mentors in Creative Coaches Clubs, offering tailored guidance and opportunities to nurture their aspirations.

    Our student-led mural and wellness spaces provide opportunities for all students to engage in the design and creation process, empowering them to shape and improve their environments.

  • LONG SHOTS

    LongShots is a yearly event uniting Des Moines Public School student-athletes, coaches, and the community in a competitive and inclusive effort to support school basketball programs financially.

  • THE MOVE

    An annual event in Des Moines bringing together local Iowa artists of diverse backgrounds and mediums to connect, gain exposure, and foster prosperity.

    Developing initiatives based in and for the communities served, enhancing engagement and showcasing the impact of community-driven change.
